Why did I spend 3 weeks drawing 64x64 pixel avatars instead of just using a template? Because the web used to be fun, and I want to bring that chaos back.
The Problem with "Professional"
For the last decade, "professional" web design has meant one thing: Clean, minimalist, sans-serif, and boring. You know the look. Big hero header. Three feature columns. A "Contact Us" form that nobody uses.
I've built dozens of those sites. They pay the bills. But do they have a soul?
Enter the Clown Class
When I started teaching clowning, I learned a fundamental truth: You have to be willing to be ridiculous to be memorable.
So I decided to apply that to my portfolio.
The Stack
- Next.js 14: Because I'm still an engineer, after all.
- Tailwind CSS: For rapid styling of pixel-perfect grids.
- Custom SVG Assets: Drawn by hand (and mouse) over many late nights.
What's Next?
This site is a living document. I'll be adding more "quests" (projects), refining the "combat system" (blog comments?), and maybe even adding a secret boss fight if you click the wrong pixel.
Stay tuned. And keep it weird.
